The circuit around Žilina Dam is an ideal cycling route for families with children and active
seniors. Most of the route around the dam consists of asphalt roads. The starting point is
near Žilina Dam, where it is possible to park for free. There are many attractions along the
route and in its surroundings. You can have a rest in the shepherd’s hut in Nezbudská Lúčka
situated on the top of a hill, which offers a magnificent view of Strečno Castle. There are
plenty of activities for children. The area features animals, fairytale houses, a playground,
and a carousel. If you are taking the cycling trip with children, don’t miss the children’s park
in the village of Mojš. The circuit starts and ends at the dam, but following the Váh River, you
can reach Budatín Castle, which is worth a visit.
