At the top of Dubeň, above the village of Teplička nad Váhom, stands a nearly 28-metre-high
lookout tower. The tower is made of a steel framework clad in wood. At the entrance, there is
a covered area with a wooden bench, where visitors can sit and rest. The sufficient altitude
(598 m above sea level) allows for a great view of the entire city of Žilina and its
surroundings. There are two routes to the lookout tower. From Budatín, the red hiking trail
leads to the lookout tower from Heroes' Square (Námestie Hrdinov). From the Prípojná public
transport stop in Zádubnie, follow the green markers of the educational trail. After a walk to
the lookout tower, you can head to Budatín Castle, which houses an exhibition on wirework,
the only one of its kind in the world. The castle is surrounded by a beautiful historic park,
which is perfect for a walk or picnic.
