Zákamenné Lookout Tower

Orava

A 15-metre-high wooden lookout tower stands above the village of Zákamenné. Its location
was carefully chosen to offer the most beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. From
here, you can admire the highest peaks of Upper Orava: Babia Hora and Pilsko, as well as
Oravská Magura and the Western Tatras. There is a hiking trail around the observation
tower, which is also accessible to cross-country skiers in winter. A winter trek and a summer
trek are organised every year across the Zákamenné Ridge up to Úšust Peak. The route
passes by the lookout tower.
In the nearby village of Krušetnica, there is another original Orava attraction – the coffee
museum. Here you can learn the story of the coffee bean from its beginnings to its delicious
end. The collection of exhibits includes old grinders, coffee machines and mugs. The
museum’s dominant feature is a mosaic made of coffee beans, which is the largest in the
world.
