The village of Oravská Polhora boasts a 16-metre-high lookout tower called Trchovnica,
which offers beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. It is located on the red hiking trail
towards the Slaná voda recreation area, where the Slaná voda – Babia hora educational trail
begins. There are two more lookout towers along the trail. An asphalt road runs alongside
the lookout tower, so it is possible to drive up to it by car.
Oravská Polhora is an interesting starting point for hiking. However, if you are not looking for
a challenging hike, we recommend a trip to the nearby village of Klin, home to a scaled-down
replica of the statue of Jesus Christ in Brazil. You can combine this with a trip to the Orava
Reservoir, which offers many attractions for children and adults alike.
