Enjoy an undisturbed beautiful walk in the bosom of nature in Liptov region. Čutkov Valley
(Čutkovská dolina) is ideal for hiking, cycling and especially for family walks. It is located in a
quiet mountain area near the town of Ružomberok.
The beginning of the valley itself is an attractive recreational spot for families with children.
Here you will find a mini zoo, a pond with fish, a small reservoir, climbing frames and a
traditional Liptov wooden chalet, featuring local Liptov cuisine and home made products from
the nearby bakery.
If you want to explore the more remote corners of the valley, follow the educational trail
"Known-Unknown", which will take you through the most beautiful spots. You can stop at
ten informative boards that will tell you more about the natural attractions. Along the way, you
will cross six bridges over streams, relax on wooden benches and find fire pits for
barbecuing, as well as a few springs with drinking water. On the way, you can also visit the
unique 24-metre-high Jelení Waterfall, as well as the Jamišné Waterfalls.
The most beautiful places in Čutkov Valley are hidden at its end, so don't give up halfway.
Your reward will be the most beautiful place in the valley, the so-called “Za dierou” gorge
(literally the gorge behind the hole), which is truly breathtaking. In addition to steep rock walls
and a mountain stream, you can admire the small waterfalls formed by the flowing water and
the rare species of mosses and ferns. The gorge lies at an altitude of 850 m and the canyon
is 50 metres long.
Čutkov Valley is suitable for a family walk or a full-day outing with children. The educational
trail is about 6 km long and the entire Čutkov Valley is 13 km long.
