Do you love the really high peaks of the Tatra Mountains? Go to Chopok in the Low Tatras
(2,024 m above sea level). Thanks to its geographical location, it is one of the most visited
tourist destinations in Slovakia. The cable car from Jasná runs there all year round. The
second-highest peak of the Low Tatras offers truly spectacular views, and on a clear sunny
day you can see the High Tatras, the Choč Mountains, as well as the Vepor and Stolica
Mountains. On clear days, you can see in the distance the Orava Beskids, Babia hora, the
Kriváň section of the Malá Fatra Mountains, and even Vtáčnik. Chopok does not have to be
the destination of your hike; you can continue along the ridge, for example, to Ďumbier or
Štefánik’s Chalet.
How to get there?
From the north, the trail is marked with blue. The climb takes about 3 hours with an elevation

If you don’t feel confident about the ascent or want to save energy and time, you can take the
