We definitely recommend a hike to the summit located in the Western Tatras – Roháče directly on the border with Poland, at an altitude of 1,653 m above sea level. The name of the summit (literally “Meadowy Mountain) comes from its numerous meadows. On its western slopes lies the Kotlový žľab National Nature Reserve. The summit itself is partly covered with dwarf pine and there is a wooden cross where a mass is held every year to mark the opening of the hiking trails. On clear days, you will have a panoramic view of the entire Roháče ridge from the top.
How to get there?
A circular hiking trail leads to Lúčna from Zverovka through the Saddle beneath Osobitá (Sedlo pod Osobitou) with a descent through Látaná Valley (Látaná dolina). If you want to extend the route, you can set off from Lúčna along the ridge called Dlhý Úplaz to Rákoň, and descend from there back to Zverovka.
Seasonal closure
Winter closure from November to the end of May or mid-June.
Parking
You can use the parking at Zverovka Cottage or the Spálená parking lot near the cable car station.
