The most popular cycling route in Kysuce. It is part of the Kysucká Cycling Route and
connects Krásno nad Kysucou and Nová Bystrica. There is a popular exhibition at the
Museum of the Kysuce Village – the open-air museum of Vychylovka. You can choose an
alternative route – a 30 km cycling route around the Nová Bystrica Dam, but it is
recommended to use a mountain bike or trekking bike. The Bystrická Cycling Route follows a
former forest railway track, running beyond the main road. On the way, you can stop in the
Museum of Homeland History in Krásno nad Kysucou and see a life-size replica of a
mammoth. There are various attractions in the area, such as the historical bridges in Krásno
nad Kysucou, World War II bunkers along the cycling route, the Slovak Astronomical Clock in
Stará Bystrica, and a lookout tower on Bobovec Hill. In winter, the route is adapted for cross-
country skiing.
