At the top of Svederník Hill (Svedernícky vrch), there is an interesting lookout tower: a 10 m
high wooden structure in the shape of a cross. It offers magnificent views of the valley
around the Váh River, Žilina, the Malá Fatra Mountains, the surrounding villages, the Strážov
Mountains, Bytča Basin, and the Javorník Mountains. The trail to the lookout tower passes
by the birthplace of the renowned Slovakian painter Vincent Hložník. The village was also the
birthplace of the Latin poet Adam Vanoch. In the centre of Svederník there is also a beautiful
chapel dedicated to St. Stephen and a group of historic stone cellars.
