The cycling route starts in the village of Podbiel, at the crossroads leading toward Zuberec.
When in Podbiel, it would be a pity not to visit the technical monument Františkova huta
(Francis’s Smelting Plant), the remains of an ironworks factory hall built in 1836. From
Podbiel, follow the main road through the villages of Oravský Biely Potok and Habovka until
you reach Zuberec, where the Museum of the Orava Village and Brestovska Cave are
located. In Zuberec, at the church, turn toward Zverovka and follow the road Nr. 0849 (red
hiking trail). After about 8 km, turn right toward Rohačska dolina (Roháče Valley). Follow the
red trail along the asphalt road until you reach a mountain hut. Ťatliakovo jazero (Mountain
Lake) is located nearby.
