The village of Zubrohlava near Námestovo also boasts its own lookout tower. The two-story
lookout tower with a shelter was built next to the chapel in Kmeťovka and can be reached
directly from the village via several unmarked trails. The lookout tower offers magnificent
views of Babia hora to the north, the Western Tatras – Roháče Mountains to the south-east
and, on clear days you can also see Choč, Oravská Magura to the south, and the Orava
Beskids to the west. The neighbouring village of Klin is only a short distance from
Zubrohlava. There is another lookout tower there, as well as a unique statue of Jesus Christ.
There are summer recreation and sports centres on the banks of the Orava Reservoir
nearby, where you can rent water bikes and boats and experience some adrenaline-pumping
fun. Or you can opt for a less adventurous boat trip to the Slanica Island of Art in the middle
of the reservoir. There, you can explore permanent exhibitions of traditional folk art from the
Orava Gallery's collections.
